Jaromír Zahrádka

CEO

Jaromír Zahrádka is Chief Executive Officer and the co-founder of i&i Prague. Prior to setting up i&i Prague, he held the position of Business Development Manager at the IOCB TTO in Prague from 2012, where he participated in almost every aspect of academy-to-business Technology Transfer. Under his supervision, three spin-off projects were established – Riocath Medical Devices a.s., DIANA Biotechnologies and iBodies. He remains a member of the Supervisory Board of Riocath.

Jaromír holds an MSc. and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Charles University in Prague. He also completed his master’s in Corporate Economics, Management and Enterprise Valuation at the University of Economics in Prague.

Using his economical background in combination with his scientific expertise, he will provide complex perspective for the evaluation of the project´s potential and feasibility. He will help you find the right strategy, attract investors or licensing partners and he will make the numbers play in your favor. His expertise and network of contacts including investors or big Pharma can open a brand-new perspective for your project.

Jiří Moos is our In-licensing Manager, having joined i&i Prague from DiaSorin where he was Marketing Manager. He is also the chairman of TACR GAMA Commercialization Board at the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Prague, and an external member of the Supervisory Board at the Institute of Biotechnology AS CR.

Between 2008 and 2016, he acted as Senior Sales Manager for Sigma-Aldrich, Czech Republic and Slovakia, and as a Coordinator of regional Sigma-Aldrich Applied Business Unit activities, also covering Hungary and Poland. For six years, he was working for Immunotech a.s., a Beckman-Coulter company located in Prague, first as Product Manager in the Clinical Chemistry team and later as Life Science Product Specialist team leader.

Jiří also has extensive experience as a Scientific Researcher at the Centre of Assisted Reproduction, General Teaching Hospital in Prague and as a Research Fellow at the Institute of Molecular Genetics AS CR in Prague.

Jiří Moos completed his Master´s Degree in Biology and Chemistry at Charles University in Prague. He received a Ph.D. (CSc.) in Biology from the Institute of Molecular Genetics, AS CR in Prague, followed by almost 3 years of postdoctoral fellowship in the field of Biology of Reproduction at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Jiří studied Business and Strategic Selling at the Miller Heiman school.

Investment Manager

Barbora Šumová is the Investment Manager for i&i Prague, having joined the company from the Institute of Rheumatology, where she worked as a senior researcher specializing in autoimmune diseases. Her goal-oriented personality and the desire to connect her scientific expertise with business know-how were the reasons to move to the technology transfer area.

Barbora obtained her MSc degree in Laboratory methods and preparation of pharmaceuticals from UCT, Prague and her PhD degree in Immunology from the Charles University, Prague. Barbora spent several years abroad (FAU, Erlangen, Germany) working on collaborative projects focused on rare autoimmune connective tissue disorders.

Barbora uses her analytical abilities to identify and assess new investment opportunities. She supports creation and development of business plans, being closely associated with scientists and entrepreneurs. Barbora will help your business to grow, create new collaborations and attract further investment opportunities.

Adéla Bártová

PR & Project Manager

Adéla Bártová is the PR and Project Manager for i&i Prague, focused on presentation of fast track projects and company presentation. Due to her communication skills and experience both in Trade and Research, she is able to prepare your promotion and present your project to co-developers and investors.

As every member of i&i Prague, Adéla has her background in Science, specifically Charles university in Prague and IOCB research institute. Prior to joining our company Adéla was an intern in Sandoz (Novartis group) and worked at the U.S. Embassy Prague at the FCU Trade department. This experience helped her develop her negotiation skills and gave her wider insight in global business.

Using her creativity and i&i Prague contact portfolio, she´ll help your project get the attention it deserves.

David Stíbal

Project Manager

David Stíbal is the Project Manager at i&i Prague. Prior to joining our company, David has worked in Lach-Ner s.r.o. as a research scientist, developing modular catalytic systems. He holds a BSc and MSc degrees from UCT Prague, Czech Republic, and PhD from the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. After his doctorate studies, David has spent several months as a PostDoc at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This international scientific experience allowed him to develop a detail-oriented approach to projects from various fields, spanning organic and inorganic chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, bioinorganic chemistry and biochemistry.

Combining the knowledge and skills obtained during his studies with his interest in technology, David will be happy to help assess the scientific background of your projects, offer advice during their start-up phase and assist in their long-term development all the way to the successful commercialization.

Karel Kubias

Karel studied organic chemistry and photo chemistry at TH Merseburg, Germany and holds an MBA in Healthcare Management (Aubern University program).

He gained his broad professional knowledge and skills during his 24 years in various management positions at multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Merck KGaA. Between 2006 – 2015, Karel worked in executive positions – first as Managing Director of Merck spol. s r.o.. Prague and then as Regional sales director for the region EEMEA (Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa) of Merck Millipore division, where he acquired further experience on the international level.

in the last 2 years before joining i&I Prague, he worked in the area of clinical chemistry as CEO of EUC laboratoies in Prague.

Since 2015, Karel is a Lecturer of Business Ethics at Anglo-American University in Prague and since 2018, he acts as a Chair of the Department of Management at this school.

Karel brings to i&i his broad experience and knowledge of international business, his national / international contacts as well as his knowledge of Healthcare sector and his experience in clinical chemistry. He has a deep understanding of Responsibility / Ethics in business and all related activities.

Mikuláš studied law at Masaryk University Brno and International and European Law at the University of Antwerp. He is an independent attorney with specialization in technology transfer. Mikuláš joined our team in 2016 and has almost ten years of experience. He has previously worked in a major Czech law firm in Brno and at South Moravian Innovation Center (JIC). He also works for other clients from both the public sector (universities and research institutions) and the private sector (investors, start-up and spin-off companies).

Mikuláš helps i&i Prague with all legal matters and is involved in negotiating transaction documentation with our partners. His knowledge of business, technical and legal matters will help you to tailor the legal framework for your specific needs.
